Maria and Sérgio are wonderful, welcoming hosts and the house is well situated and comfortable. Hang a plastic bag on the gate with an order slip and find freah bread waiting before first light. The island is small and readily explored from Candelaria with car or bicycle. In a car you could be at any point of Sao Miguel in 90 minutes and most places in less than an hour. The sunset at Ferraria and snorkeling among colorful fish at Mosteiros are nearby. Highly recommended!!
